Jewelry Care

To prevent early tarnishing, remove your jewelry before showering, swimming, or being exposed to water for long periods of time. While I always use tarnish-resistant wire or sterling silver, they may naturally tarnish over time with excessive exposure to lotions, soap, or water. If your piece begins to look dull, use a jewelry cleaning cloth to re-polish. If you have a raw copper piece that has not been oxidized, it is likely to tarnish quicker than other metals, which can still be polished with a cloth. None of the metals I use will turn your skin green, stain clothes, or stain your skin.

If your piece has any type of opal, it is especially recommended to prevent exposure to water for long periods of time so it does not cause cloudiness or cracking. Never clean your opals in an ultrasonic cleaner, as it can cause water penetration into the crystal or fracture it.
